Anne was unemployed from a private staffing service. She received career counseling at the AAUD and as a result was hired as a workforce development specialist at a social service agency. She went on to obtain her certification in Career Development.

Betty worked at a Pittsburgh bank as a temporary and needed a job with a more dependable future. She was hired by US Airways as a customer service representative but realized after a few months that she did not like the position. She came to the AAUD and was given a job lead for a position with Verizon in Cranberry Township as a customer service representative there. She not only enjoys this position, but her wages increased from $22,000 to $25,000 plus incentives.

Charlie came to the AAUD Workforce Development program with a criminal background that prevented him from working in health care – a field he truly loved. He was referred by the AAUD to the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and has redirected his goals. He has begun training to become an Over The Road Truck Driver.

Dianne lost her job at Ames Department Store after working over 20 years in various departments. With the help of AAUD and her understanding that she needed to obtain new skills, Dianne attended two medical office courses at the Garfield Business Institute and received a certificate with a 4.0 grade point average.
