Excitement is
growing for the 17th
Annual Aliquippa Art and Music Festival, scheduled for September, 11th. The Festival is expected to attract thousands of people to downtown
Franklin Avenue for fun activities, art, food and live music throughout
the day.
The festival kicks off every year with a parade
starting at 10 a.m., traveling down Franklin Avenue from Kennedy
Boulevard that includes local dignitaries and marching bands. Dozens of
organizations will be represented by vendor booths offering food
(including a rib cook-off in the afternoon), crafts, children’s
activities and more all along Franklin Avenue.
An art exhibition with pieces from local and
regional artists will be on display. This showcase of area talent is a
celebration of the arts as a tool for renewal and hope. Visitors to the
gallery will be asked to cast a ballot in the Aliquippa Choice Award for
their favorite piece.
Free concerts at the stage will keep the Festival’s energy high all
day! On behalf of the Franklin Center and the many other organizations
involved, the Festival Committee is requesting your participation during
our festival. We are currently seeking musicians of all genres, dancers,
spoken word poets, jugglers, actors-everything and anything related to
the arts- for our staged performances. We are also seeking artists of
all ages and artwork in all media who would be willing to share their
creativity with the Aliquippa Community.
The Festival Committee looks forward to great
success in bringing together the people of Aliquippa and neighboring
communities to highlight the arts and to showcase Aliquippa as a
vibrant, resurging, economically and socially viable community. Become
one of the thousands of people who refuse to miss this increasingly
popular community event!
Everyone has something to
gain from a successful Festival!
